You will need the following materials:

  1. Webcam: any webcam with tripod mount (thread). The Logitech C920 is a popular camera with this feature
  2. Flexible camera mount: I prefer a goose-neck monopod with a sturdy clamp like this Smatree. This kind of mount is flexible enough to allow you to clamp the camera to your desk or to other furniture around your work area.
  3. Dry Erase (optional)
3 Equipment Setup

  1. Connect camera to monopod and point it toward the desired surface.
  2. Plug USB cable to your computer
  3. Start your favorite software: Panopto or Zoom

Select Secondary Camera

Start Recording

Select Secondary Camera

Start Recording

  1. Start your recording session in Panopto.
  2. Leave the laptop integrated camera as your main video and add the external camera as a secondary video source by selecting “Add Another Video Source”
  3. Start recording as usual
5 Zoom Setup

  1. Start your zoom session
  2. Selecting “Share”
  3. Select "Advanced"
  4. Click on “Content from 2nd Camera”
  5. Click "Share"
