Canvas Resources for Faculty

Canvas is the official learning management system of the UW. Canvas supports learning in in-person, hybrid, and fully online courses by providing a platform where students can access course content, like readings, videos, or recorded lectures, submit assignments, and collaborate with peers and instructors. Canvas is FERPA-compliant and is free and available to all UW faculty and students.

Course sites are automatically created in Canvas each quarter, and registered students are automatically added to your courses. To complete the Canvas set up for a course you’re teaching soon, log in to Canvas to get started. Click here for more detailed information about logging in to Canvas. 

Your courses are listed in your dashboard, which is the first page you see after logging in. If you do not see a course that you are currently teaching, email edhelp@uw.edu and include the course name and code.
