Providing captions for video and audio content makes course materials accessible for all students and may be a required accommodation for some students. Panopto recordings have a built-in tool for creating machine-generated captions that can be edited. This process is fairly quick, compared to other methods for captioning videos, and while machine-generated captions aren’t perfect, spot-checking and correcting them is much faster than manually captioning an entire video.
