CIRGE
Assessment of International Collaboration
The new routes of knowledge offer the opportunity for people from different disciplines and even from different countries to work collaboratively in order to strengthen and complement their capabilities to solve the complex problems that society faces. CIRGE is contributing to this objective through integrative assessment of international collaboration which aims to reveal what practices and knowledge are necessary to advance toward this direction.
In February 2011, CIRGE led the “Investigating the International Experience in STEM Graduate Education and Beyond” workshop to identify what knowledge is necessary in assessing international collaboration in STEM fields at the graduate level. The event, funded by the National Science Foundation, assembled more than 40 experts from Australia, Brazil, Germany, Japan, South Africa, UK, and the United States in Washington D.C.
