Welcome to the Partnering for Racial Equity website, a collaboration between the Department of Racial Equity Advancement (DREA) at Seattle Public Schools, the Center for Racial Equity (CRE) at the Seattle Education Association, and the College of Education at the University of Washington. Our work seeks to leverage the expertise of both research and practice to inform iterative improvements and build systemic capacity for racial equity. Please use the links above to orient yourself further to our work.

Our current project is focused on co-designing family-school transformative agency and identity affirming critical literacies of K-3 Black youth to catalyze Systemic Racial Equity. Our goal is to center Black families and communities to foster family-educator transformative agency and literacy practices that affirms Black boys’ identities and cultivates their engagement in critical early literacy learning. We are exploring organizational routines for critical data use to sustain the local practices and family-school agency developed here across the system.
