Wolf wanted sugar, went to neighbors, sneezed make the door fall, and ate pig. Went to second neighbor, sneezed killed and ate second pig. Went to third neighbor, sneezed and did not kill pig.

Cops came, wolf in the newspaper and then put to jail.

Don't be selfish.

Don't be mean.

Not sharing is not good.

Don't stick to one thing.

Don't eat other people

Always keep extra sugar.

The Three Little Pigs (Zemach, 1990)

Mom told kids to build strong houses - from straw, stick and bricks. Straw and stick pigs got eaten by wolf, the brick pig tricked wolf with turnips, apples and barrel.

Brick pig boiled the wolf and ate him.

Don't be mean.

Don't eat people.

Don't stick to one thing that is bad.

The Three Little Javelinas (Lowell, 1994)

Three Javelinas (wild pigs), coyote, Native American woman, adobe brick man

Cartoonish, Javelinas stood on hind legs and wore clothes, coyote sometimes on hind legs.

Maybe watercolor, chalk, colored pencil.

Three Javelinas lived in desert, went separate ways.

1st house - tumbleweeds.

2nd house saguaro ribs.

3rd house adobe bricks. Coyote knocked down 1st and 2nd, Javelinas escaped to the 3rd. Coyote tried to sneak in.

Coyote fell in chimney, got boiled, ran away and howled.

Don't blow down houses.

Make your house strong.

Don't go down chimneys.

Don't eat people.

Don't be mean.

Be friendly - don't be mean to other animals - they can be endangered. Don't loose your temper.

Try to be nice and forgive people, except if they are trying to blow down your house and kill you.

The Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig (Trivizas, & Oxenbury, 1993)

Big bad pig, three little wolves, Kangaroo, rhino, beaver, flamingo, Mama

Walk on hind legs, don't wear clothes, water color.

Mama told kids to build house. Watch out for B. B. Pig, brick house, concrete house, metal house, flower house. Blowing doesn't work. Sledgehammer, jackhammer, dynamite, smell so pig turns good.  

Pig and wolves lived together ever after.

Don't break houses.

Don't be mean.

Strong houses don't work.

Things that low or fragile they wont wreck.

Use gentle ways to stop meanness. Make your house smell good. Don't try your hardest. Things you don't think will work, will work.
