Employees and retirees will lose the ability to sign in to the UW Canvas LMS when they separate from the UW, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/itconnect.uw.edu\/security\/uw-netids\/about-uw-netids\/expiration\/\">in parallel with other IT services<\/a><span style=\"color: black;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">Who will be impacted by this change<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">Separating employees and retirees lose access when they leave the University.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">People with sponsored UW NetIDs, such as guest instructors.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 12pt; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">Who will <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">not<\/span> be impacted by this change, and continue to have access to Canvas<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; color: black;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">A faculty member who has an academic appointment in Workday.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">Current instructors, faculty, staff, and students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">New and returning employees will be able to access Canvas on their official start date.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/itconnect.uw.edu\/learn\/tools\/canvas\/canvas-policies\/timeline\/\">Review details about who has access to Canvas and for how long<\/a><span style=\"color: black;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">Remember<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">If you support any of the above groups, please:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-left: .375in; direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed; margin-top: 0in; margin-bottom: 0in;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li style=\"margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0; vertical-align: middle;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; font-size: 11.0pt; color: black;\">Provision access to the Canvas LMS for guest instructors or other affiliates as needed.
