{"id":745,"date":"2022-07-25T14:58:51","date_gmt":"2022-07-25T14:58:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.education.uw.edu\/epal\/?page_id=745"},"modified":"2022-07-25T22:30:41","modified_gmt":"2022-07-25T22:30:41","slug":"undergrad-research-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.education.uw.edu\/epal\/?page_id=745","title":{"rendered":"Undergrad"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align:center\"><strong>Undergrad Research Opportunities<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>UW College of Education is actively recruiting two undergraduate students to assist on a NSF PFI-TT project that develops an online platform, Collaborative Learning and Analytics for Global Education <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsf.gov\/awardsearch\/showAward?AWD_ID=2043613&amp;HistoricalAwards=false\">(Colleague).<\/a> The proposed technology uses&nbsp;the latest developments in educational \u201cbig data\u201d and machine learning techniques to&nbsp;empower K-12 teachers to efficiently plan high-quality instruction and collaborate in teams. This project is led by a team including expertise in education and data science research, product&nbsp;development and technology transfer, marketing and business strategy, and K-12&nbsp;educators&nbsp;as end-users and&nbsp;potential&nbsp;customers.<\/p>\n<p>We are recruiting two undergrad positions, starting 9\/16\/2022 or whenever the position is filled, and ending at 6\/15\/2023. This position may be renewed based on the candidate performance and the availability of funds.  <\/p>\n<p>This project will offer opportunities and resources needed to develop students&#8217; research and entrepreneurial expertise in educational data science and technology. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team closely on several aspects of projects, including data sciences methods, front-end programming, and market\/user research.
