Banks<\/a> was a professor at the University of Washington for 50 years. He was the founding director of the Center for Multicultural Education, which was a central location for transformational work in multicultural education and allied fields for 26 years. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/news\/november-2017\/cherry-banks\">Dr. Cherry A. Banks<\/a> was a founding professor at the University of Washington, Bothell and was a leading affiliated faculty member of the Center for Multicultural Education. Both James and Cherry Banks retired in 2018.
