About

According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, all children have a right to a quality education, including free primary schooling. The Center for Early Childhood Policy and Equity is committed to building equitable futures for all children through three key actions.

The Center supports:

  1. Research that advances the field of early childhood policy and that informs evidence-based policy design, implementation, and evaluation;
  2. Teaching, career advising, and program development within higher education early childhood policy programs, including the University of Washington Early Childhood Policy specialization within the Education Policy, Organizations, and Leadership M.Ed. program; and
  3. Service to the community, including partnership with community organizations.

CECPE Students Complete Washington D.C.-based Early Childhood Policy Course

A group of students in the Education Policy Organizations and Leadership – Early Childhood Policy Specialization completed a course on the Congressional structure and legislative procedures in early childhood in Washington, D.C., led by Dr. Gail Joseph.
